        <p>The City of Cleveland 2012 Summer Rain Barrel Program is back and open to all home owners in the City of Cleveland.&nbsp; Residents must show proof of ownership in order to participate.</p>

<p>The Summer Rain Barrel Program is a collaborative program designed to provide City of Cleveland residents with rain barrels free of charge.&nbsp; In an effort to reduce stormwater runoff, help residents save money and engage Cleveland youth, the Mayor&#8217;s Office of Sustainability has partnered with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD), Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU), the Mayor&#8217;s Youth Summer Employment Program (YSEP), local Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and the Cleveland Division of Water (CWD) to employ City of Cleveland high school students to assemble and distribute the rain barrels to City residents.</p>

The Larchmere Community Association meets on the first Wednesday of the month at Fairhill. The LCA distributes a monthly newsletter to all homes in the area. Shaker Square opened in 1929 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. <b>The renovated Shaker Square</b> boasts a multi-plex cinema, full-service grocery and drug stores, a variety of restaurants and service and specialty shops.</p>

<p>Access to downtown Cleveland and Tower City is only 15 minutes via Rapid Transit. Shaker Square is only ten minutes by car or bus to world-renowned University Circle. University Circle is home both to University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic, as well as Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Cleveland Institute of Music.</p>

        <p>Named for the streets—Cormere, Haddam, Ardoon, Larchmere, Kemper—CHALK is a community of comfortable colonial homes just north of Shaker Square. They are in the Shaker School system. The community celebrates Memorial Day each year with an organized potluck picnic. In 2008, they added an Easter egg hunt for the youngsters. </p>

        <p>The Ludlow Community Association celebrated its 50th anniversary in fall 2007. This historic community encompasses both Cleveland and Shaker Heights, defined by the houses in the Shaker School District. Ludlow is roughly bounded by So. Moreland, Van Aken, Onaway, Livingston. The Ludlow School, the original focal point of the community, is still used for LCA meetings on the second Tuesday at 7:30pm and the fourth Saturday at 10:30am. </p>
